Things to do in the Yorkshire Dales

The Yorkshire Dales are a paradise for walking, mountain biking and photography alike, and Swaledale (in our opinion) is the best.

In all seasons, the scenery is stunning and the local people are friendly. Although you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity, equally, if you come across anybody, you’re likely to be able to stop for a chat if you want to. Several long distance walking routes, like the Coast to Coast, the Pennine Way, and the James Herriot Way all pass through Keld. But Swaledale also has the most beautiful short walks too...

The waterfalls or 'forces' are amazing in Swaledale and our bunkhouse looks out over the lovely Rainby Force. Yards away is the well known Wain Wath Falls or Force. Keld itself has several other waterfalls and all a gentle stroll away.

Mountain bike adventure races and running events also take place in Swaledale for the very energetic. The rest of the Yorkshire Dales is brimming with festivals and fairs too; speak to us for an update.

The best thing about staying here in Keld, Swaledale? It’s got to be the getting away from it all feeling... it’s great!
