Just had a fantastic week at this beautiful campsite. We stayed in a tent with our two small dogs, with electric hook up, for only £13 per night, what brilliant value for money. Free showers, plenty of hot water & toilet paper, of which were cleaned tirelessly, no smells or unsightly mess. The site itself is next to the river, and has its own waterfall which is very impressive. Heather and Steve make a great team in keeping the site, and bunkhouse for walkers in tip top condition. Heather makes food, which are of massive size portions, and are great value for money. They are genuine people who really do care that you are well looked after while staying with them. As for the midges.. they did have a day or two where they thought they could spoil our holiday but WE WON... Just take some repellent with you, and you will be fine. The overall stay at this site is one of a great memorable trips. I would recommend this lovely site to anyone. See you again next year. PS Pontefract cakes are in the post.
Thanks both of you! Actually, although I get most of the cooking credit, it's not really fully deserved! Steve cooks the meat dishes and I cook the veggie ones :o)

This campsite is a perfect little getaway for those who want peace and quiet and lovely scenery. This was the first time we have visited the Dales but heather and Steve made us feel so welcome, they even lent us a map and sent us on a perfect walk around the beautiful hills. Heather also kindly lent us her fly spray to get rid of those annoying midges!
Heather and Steven make this campsite a special one, they are obviously very lovely people who care about others having a good time whilst staying with them.

VISITED THIS SITE FOR TWO NIGHTS ON THE 27TH AND 28TH JUNE 2010. AMENITIES VERY BASIC BUT ALWAYS PLENTY OF HOT WATER FOR SHOWERS AND WASHING UP. BUT YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. WORSED THING OF ALL WAS THE MIDGES, ABSOLUTELY TORTURED FOR TWO NIGHTS SO GO PREPARED.BUT APART FROM THAT ITS A LOVELY SITE.
Sorry about the midges! We've bought 2 midge machines and have them working, so not sure we can do any more. The midges throughout Swaledale are hungry it seems...
My husband and I have stayed here a few times since buying our camper in October. What a lovely place to go to get away from it all. You couldnt meet two nicer people than Heather and Steve. Shower is great and the bunkhouse is located next to its own waterfall. Try it you will love it. Julie & Mark Mitchell
Stunning location, Excellent site, a real 10/10 experience.
